Theme: “Changing conditions in a changing World: Comparative analysis of health, morbidity, and mortality”
We live in a turbulent world with many challenges, not only for our lives but also for our work. The recent epidemic (which is still not completely over!) has shown that the continued decline in mortality over the past half century cannot be taken for granted. However, in order to understand, and evaluate, these processes properly, we need good, comparative analyses: between countries, between regions and between social and ethnic groups. The upcoming workshop will create a forum where issues related to the comparative analysis of health, morbidity, and mortality can be discussed from many perspectives: methodologies and applications; geography and environment; history; migration and marginalisation; short and long term trends and transition; age, sex, and population structures, and much more.
As usual, there is no registration fee but participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation. Our thanks to the Hungarian Demographic Research Institute in Budapest for hosting and supporting this meeting.
We will keep you informed about the final version of the program as well as about other details of the event. Please see our workshop website at https://hmmwg.vse.cz/.
